Find a synagogue near you

Orthodox, Sephardic, Chabad and Conservative synagogues across the United States — nearest to you first.

Before you go: prayer times change with the seasons and the holidays. Call ahead the first time — every synagogue here will be glad to welcome you. List checked October 1, 2026.

Going to shul for the first time?

  1. Just come. You don’t need to be a member, know Hebrew, or know what to do — someone will help you find the page.
  2. Dress modestly. Men cover their heads (a kippah is usually by the door); women typically wear a skirt or dress below the knee, and in many synagogues cover their hair if married.
  3. On Shabbat, leave the phone at home or keep it out of sight and silent.
  4. In Orthodox synagogues men and women sit separately. That’s normal — ask where to sit.
  5. Stay for Kiddush after services. That’s where you’ll meet people.
